Well got a letter today from Sky increasing my welcome 12 month offer from Be even though I'm only 6 months in.
So that's a straw onto the camels back for when my offer expires to move ISP.

It is only the Line Rental which has been increased. BT Retail have done the same and so will everyone else.

If you are interested, ask them about the charge for not having TV. This has recently been dropped for existing customers. Strictly speaking it should mean that your contract is restarted at 12 months, but with a friendly bit of persuasion you might get them to waive this.

Thanks for the tip but in fact not paying a charge for not having Sky TV.
But yes I think if any variation were made, particulary come next March, to what they offer it would be a 12 month contract.
I have rung them and in fact it will increase by only half as parts of my charges presently are half, this was not in the letter as it is a letter to all customers.
I can get out of the no longer free 1571 charge by disabling that service, apparently they expect that people will add their own answer machines.

      No problem.

As mentioned in another thread, I've already disabled the 1571 feature on my line as well. I forgot to mention it to you just now, so sorry for that.

At least you don't get the same increase (for now) as everyone else I guess.

With 1571, many seem to have disabled this now.
Although its only 1 I have removed it now.

Was told that BT charge 1.85 for this a month.
Do remember when I once had BT line rental many years ago before I moved rental and talk to sky, we had to add all those as a free addon in some strange way to keep free (cant remember what it was now), so they have been trying for years to make these cost options.
Hope that caller id, 141 and 1471 do not go the same way as a chargeable option.

I regard Caller ID, 141 and 1471 as important safety items now. With all the fuss over phishing and many other scams being conducted over the phone, these IMHO are very important for everyone now.
