Whilst a specific exchange or two will have a problem, Sky generally get it fixed within 2-4 months.

Where this is a problem, as a forum we can help to identify it and check with the bods at Sky. A few of the members have access to a private forum and can ask. Alternatively a customer can phone Sky's customer services to get the same information.

What we try to do though is to confirm by way of a on-line monitor that the issue is a backhaul issue as not all of the issues are.

As for what you are connected to, this should indeed be Sky's LLU kit. Alternatively you may be connected via WLR3. To check dial 17070. If you get Zoe, then you are on SVBN and full LLU. If you get BT's line checker, then you are not and cold be on WLR3.
Thank you for the info... dial 17070????

Any and all ISPs can use Sky On Demand, which has probably put a strain on all service providers. Some providers in USA want companies like Netflix who place a big demand on bandwidth, to pay towards the cost.

      Give Sky a call.

See if someone can do a line check on your line.

      Phew!

That will mean that they will get someone from BTO to look at things for you.

had an engineer arrive on thursday..said he had come to install a new line (apparently sky opened a fault with bto) told him not here he wasnt...no need..all i wanted was the line testing.... off he went...
2nd engineer rang today.....I explained the situation..he said the line sounded ok to him (over the phone)...told him about everything so far.... but he said the line sounded ok..and the internet was running.....so he could do nothing...i went on a bit further..... saying he was welcome to come and run any line test he wished...(when i worked for the uni b4 i retired..I used to run copper TDR test's to spot dry joints and bad joints/ loss over the joint etc..not sure how trained up bto are..but he didn't seem to have a clue and said he wasnt trained to do 'exchange' wiring work... and that needed an line engineer...lol
anyway i have reported direct to bt...so hopefully i can speak to someone in the know....
      cheers

      Re: bethere to sky

It is just as important for the negineers to check any and all junctions.

One or two members have had issues with them in the past.

Top of telegraph poles, cabinets and in the exchanges.

Also the actual item to which your line is connected in the exchange needs to be checked as well.
