Science fiction fans are in for a treat this December as streaming service NOW TV welcomes SYFY to its Entertainment Pass.

This week, fans of the genre will be able to stream SYFY – NBCUniversal International Networks’ brand dedicated to all things science fiction, on NOW TV. This includes the live channel, episodes of hit shows on Catch Up and a range of complete season Box Sets.

At launch, Box Set-bingers can enjoy all seasons of The Librarians, starring Rebecca Romijn (X-Men) and Noah Wyle (ER), ahead of the new season launching on 14th December at 8pm. Other Box Sets available include Killjoys starring Hannah John-Kamen (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Game of Thrones), which returns for a fourth season next year, Hunters, a thriller produced by Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead) and space-opera Dark Matter from the producers of Stargate.

Movie buffs can also stream live classic sci-fi movies such as John Carpenter’s The Thing starring Kurt Russell, Pitch Black with Vin Diesel, 12 Monkeys featuring Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis, Daredevil starring Ben Affleck and Serenity – written and directed by Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer).

As the destination for fans of science fiction and fantasy genres, SYFY gives fans of all kinds a universe they can call home. From pure sci-fi, fantasy and paranormal to horror and superheroes – the full breadth of the genre will be available on NOW TV.

Paul Sweeney, Sales & Marketing Director at NOW TV said: “From space adventures to the supernatural, with SYFY now available to stream on NOW TV there’s a whole new universe of sci-fi content to be explored on your Entertainment Pass.”

“Science fiction fans – the wait is over! We couldn’t be more excited about launching SYFY on NOW TV, bringing the brand – and its compelling range of sci-fi and fantasy content – to even more viewers,” says Lee Raftery, MD UK & Emerging Markets at NBCUniversal International Networks. “We’re looking forward to super-serving the legions of UK science fiction fans – who are ultimately at the heart of everything we do.”

The channel joins a host of others on the NOW TV Entertainment Pass with Sky Atlantic, FOX, Sky One, MTV, Sky Living, Sky Arts, Gold, Comedy Central, Discovery Channel, Nat Geo WILD, ITV Encore, ABC and including 250 Box Sets on demand.

Starting to watch an awful lot of stuff on Netflix now, they have some excellent series on there.

With Sky on the other hand there seems to a lack of new quality stuff; even the new series of The Blacklist is not even in the schedule yet, but it's been running in the USA for months.

This will go down well for NOWTV users.
Know many who have been waiting for SYFY channel to arrive.
Looks like it came early as was previously mentioned for a possible start early 2018.

Yes the linear channels, such as Sky, do seem to be missing out on a lot of new content at the moment to Netflix and Amazon.

The Blacklist has always been late to appear on Sky or in the UK, compared with any US airing.
NBC premier it and do promote their online app with it.
      Expected next year though.

Do watch some stuff on netflix, Star Wars Discovery was ok, enjoyed Salem and Stranger Things and enjoying Frontier.
The films mostly though are second rate.
But for £4.99 a month and you can turn it on and off so easily, its good for something else now and again.

Re: SYFY launches on NOW TV

Stranger Things was excellent. Designated Survivor is also very good, I'm not normally a fan of political drama, but it's more than just that in this case.

I agree the films are not that good, but their own stuff is, Star TREK is also pretty good, Mindhunter took a couple of episodes to grow on me but I'm now looking forward to the next series.

The only issue with some of the series is the ability to binge, thus watching a whole series over a weekend, nothing else gets done!

The Blacklist has never been this late, we are used to having the Christmas break mid series, this year we get nothing.

Are the Sky cupboards bare for 2018 so they are holding stuff back?

I'm also finding myself watching more and more on Netflix now.....especially on the go as the Netflix app is light-years ahead of Sky Go which is now a sorry excuse of an app.
