      Re: Hidden Internet Server

Ironically it was an ex who got me into Macs I was happy with my pc, but I seem to have the reverse midas touch I have actually had 5 Macs and all of them have either developed a fault or the motherboard has burnt out, I have had to replace two...

That is why I got a PC laptop because I was sick of them going wrong! I will NOT be buying a Mac again that's for sure when this one dies, I shall buy a new PC. This Mac wasn't cheap either just under a thousand quid!

In a way I wish I could switch ISP's too to see whether the fault could be with the router, although I have been told I can buy another router of Ebay to see if the problem lies with the router.

      It's a process of elimination.

I have no contact with my ex now sadly because they'd know what to do and I would tell them in no uncertain terms exactly what I thought about Macs LOL

Before buying a new router I would see if a friend or relative who also has Sky broadband would be prepared to temporarily swap routers with you to check whether it is your router that is causing the problem.

      Re: Hidden Internet Server

None of my friends use Sky, and my relatives don't even have computers LOL.

I refuse to use BT because their call centres are in India, no disrespect to India. I have used Sky since 2008. This is my second router (supplied by Sky)
