I think everyone seeing this issue is having to do that with the 2504n, but I don't know if they will eventually update that firmware or not. It's not the ideal solution! Interestingly the problem only affected my iPhone 3GS but didn't affect two other iPhones that visit nor the iPad2 of Mrs. Speedyrite.

If you want to buy a router that is better spec'd than the 2504n, I was looking at the Billion 7800 (for which there is now firmware that works with Sky's implementation of MER and also works on Sky fibre).

I'm using "somethine else" at the moment.

But if you have had the new firmware for the 2504n that seems to be rolling out, you might want to do a bit of testing to see whether or not this issue has been fixed.

I have the same problem on a Android 4.1 HTC One X. When WiFi is on I'll get an enormous battery drain of around 10% per hour. With WiFi off its around 0.5 to 1%.

I hope SKy can add the 'Beacon Interval' setting to the Router options. This apparently fixes it.

I doubt that this will happen! The problem only occurred for me when I upgraded from ADSL to Fibre, which also meant having to use the Sagemcom 2504n (Fibre) router. There has recently been a software upgrade rolling out to the 2504n, but I don't know if it has fixed this problem (because I am not currently using it). I am currently trying out another solution and that problem has thankfully gone away...

same here. once i removed the sagem from my setup i reactivated sync wirelessly and battery drain is no longer an issue. i haven't tried it with the new firmware on the sagem though and have no need to now
