F@st 2504N router config with Mac

After the recent network problems I had the other week (turned out to be Sky network issue and not me), Sky sent me out a new router (Sagemcom F@st 2504N). I connected it up today and just spent the best part of an hour setting it up (porting forwarding and I've also now set up reserved IP allocation too)

The config pages are an absolute nightmare to use. On clicking the 'apply' buttons on all the pages, 9 times out of 10 the webpage page goes blank and nothing happens. Every page takes severe attempts to configure. Many pages are also very slow at loading too. Pages can take upto 40 seconds to load

I'm using a 2011 iMac with Safari 5.1.7 with OS X ver 10.7.4 and the router has firmware version 5.23.1a4N (not sure if that's the latest version or not?)

My Macbook with the same software versions is the same as well.

      Anyone else having this issue?

A few members have reported that the Sagem 2504N can be slow to take the settings.

Judging from other posts, you must connect the router to the Internet whilst you are making the changes.

It might be worth saving the current setup, resetting the router (press the Reset button for 10 seconds with the power connected) and see if it works any better. If it doesn't, at least you can quickly restore the setup file.

The Sagem 2304n also has issues with being slow to add any changes. Some members found it was quicker with the WiFi disabled.

My old D-Link 2640S was also a little ropey with a Mac as it never displayed the router logs properly. Now everything is set up, it's not really an issue anyway.

Not a big believer in the router backup either as I'd tried that last week before doing a full reset on that. On performing a restore after the reset, half the stuff was missing (no firewall rules or port forwarding rules). I printed out all the config pages I needed from the old 2640 this time!!

Yes, UI is very slow, Fibre version of 2504n router with wireless turned off, same version of Safari and OS X on MacBook.
