Getting on some sites but not others?

I can access some sites but not others, but all are sites I visit regularly. I have this on my iMac, iPad and iPhone. I tried rebooting the router (Sagamcom), but still the same.

I called the Sky helpline and they talked me through the usual script with no joy. She said she'd have to escalate the call, but whoever she spoke to said it was a problem with my machine. I told the girl that I get the same thing with my phone and tablet and I'm struggling to believe all three devices have developed the same fault at the exact same moment, which she agreed with. She bumped it to her supervisor and the answer I got was, "try again alter, maybe it will have resolved itself"

Needless to say I was a tad irritated by this time. However, several hours have passed with no change. I did wonder if there was a DNS problem, as I've heard Sky's was, less than adequate, sometimes. I installed an app called Namebench, which polls OpenDNS and Google DNS looking for a better alternative, tried these but again no joy, and I'm at the limit of my knowledge now.

Can anyone advise or point me in the right direction?

n.b., some sites I can access: Google, BBC News, Lifehacker, Youtube, Digital Photography School.
Ones I can't access: Gizmodo, Digg, Grooveshark, ReadWriteWeb.

It could be the old '2' problem, where addresses beginning with '2' have difficulty with some sites. Does your IP address begin with '2'?

It doesn't, it begins with a 1. I did try one beginning with 2 from OpenDNS but got the same result.

      It doesn't, it begins with a 1.
That must be new, I have never seen a Sky address that begins with '1'.

Open DNS are servers, they don't give out IP addresses. They give out DNS addresses.

Click Who is your ISP below, that will tell you your IP address.
