      Hacked Internet Connection

I am pretty sure that someone else is hacking into my sky internet connection.

I connect via ethernet and use port 1 on the router, I continually alter to 2, 3 and 4 ports and continually reset in hope that I can stop what I can only describe as someone using my internet connection and accessing my accounts.

My mouse keeps freezing periodically and I have to switch it over from one connection on my keyboard to another

When I log into various accounts I use to promote links, I find weird things like other peoples details, I change my passwords very regular

When I get emails from these sites to read and get credited for, I get a message saying I've already read them

I am sure that my referrals to programs which I promote are getting stolen.

I downloaded Google Chrome and suddenly that froze up

I click on emails and suddenly instead of a new tab which I have it set for, a new window opens up instead.

Its too much of a coincidence for all this to happen.

I use Firefox 5, I also paid for a year subscription to Eset Virus Protection but not sure if this stops hackers from using my internet connection

I have even gone into the router and changed passwords

But I am still getting the problems

HELP any advice very much appreciated

I don't know what to do next.

      How safe is Sky Internet?

      Re: Hacked Internet Connection

It's possible but unlikely that someone is hijacking your internet connection.

What is more probable is that you have downloaded a trojan or virus of some form.

What firewall and virus protection do you use?

      Re: Hacked Internet Connection

      I use ESET Cybersecurity

The firewall is Mac's own (found by aboutthismac, networksettings, firewall)
      Firewall Settings:

Mode: Limit incoming connections to specific services and applications
      Applications:
      com.apple.Safari: Allow all connections
      org.gudy.azureus2: Block all connections
      Firewall Logging: No
      Stealth Mode: No

      Re: Hacked Internet Connection

If you use your ethernet port to connect, you can switch off your wireless as you aint needing it then anyone using your Internet needs to be physically connected to your router

I agree with redwarfcrew, more likely a trojan on your PC - or has someone hacked your webmail account!!!!

I thought Macs were impervious to viruses and trojan attacks, but it seems they may not be. Download and run this app to check if you have picked up a trojan or other unwanted malware..-
      ClamXav

I would agree with the others, it looks like one or more of your online accounts has been hacked.
