Basically Sky Connect is a re-branded BT Broadband product and as such isn't controlled by Sky. Sky purchase bandwidth off of BT and this has to be managed by Sky as otherwise BT charge them extortionate amounts for exceeding this bandwidth. As such, Sky throttle connections

Re: Are my speed problems between my router and my iMAC

How dare they implement something that is slowing down the interface between my wireless scanner and my iMAC.
They are not doing that. They are slowing down the connection between the exchange and your router. Your iMac should be connecting to the router at 54mbps. Changing your wireless channel may improve the connection between your Mac and the router, it will not improve your internet speed.

Check on SamKnows - Telephone Exchange Search if your exchange has been enabled Sky(right hand column) if it has call Sky and tell them you want transferred to an LLU connection as soon as possible. If they are not enabled, find another ISP.
