Best Router channel on a Mac?

Does anyone know the best channels to have your router set to on a Mac?

I had issues with dropped connections on my MAC a while back, and after ringing up sky Tech support i seem to remember being told that MAC's are best set to 1 of 3 channels on the router, but for the life of me i can't remember what those channels were...

Now a friend of mine is having the same issue and wants to try these channels to see if his connection improves.

      thanks

There is no particular router channel for Macs or any other OS, it just depends on the local environment. Download AirRadar, scan for channels in use in the area and choose a channel as far from those in use as possible.
      Apple - Downloads - Networking & Security - AirRadar

If I remember correctly, channels 1, 6 and 11 are good ones to choose because the frequency used by them does not overlap with any of the neighbouring channels, but as TomD (isitme) says your best choice will depend on local conditions and there's nothing special for Macs. Oh for the days gone by when my old Netgear Wireless Access Point was the only wireless network in my area...

That is correct, however if all these are in use in your area No 13 is probably the best choice.
