Question Macbook/Pro Wireless needs a sticky thread?

The number of posts related to the poor wifi reception in these laptops indicates it would be a good idea to promote a thread to sticky regarding the use of iStumbler, changing channels, using external wifi sticks/cards, arials, homeplugs, encryption options and orienting the router to "point" at the machine (or replacing the router)?

I went through many sites trying to determine the exact causes of my problems, everything from extracting and replacing the wireless card driver from a previous OS X version to the physical solutions listed above.
