New to Sky BB and these forums.
Hi
I've received my Segem router and will have the line activated next Tuesday and am a tad apprehensive regarding the setup of the system. The main computer is an Apple iMac (Leopard) and there is also a PC & Laptop(both Vista) in the house. Currently all three machines run wirelessly from my cable modem & router. My question is can I have my Sky router situated in the hallway (where the main telephone socket is) and then after switching the router on will the Apple Mac and the PC & Laptop "see" the router? What do I do with regard to logging onto that router and setting up the security protocols. I've got a card with numbers on it.
Sorry to appear a tad dense on this but I've been a cable user for the last 10 years and haven't had to worry about all this.
Thanks

Re: New to Sky BB and these forums.
hiya and welcome..
set-up is simple just take your time setting each pc up. with each pc do a network search and hopefully they will see the sky router use the passkey you received with the router and away you go. don't bother using the setup cd

Re: New to Sky BB and these forums.
by default all the security is switched on already for you by sky, so no need to log into the router.
As astra says, plug in the router to the phone line (and the main master socket is the best place), then on the PCs do a search for your SSID (the SKY12345 on the card), then enter the passkey provided on the card.
Job done
Of course, if you have any problem, come right back here.
