Old Apple Mac question

Good day,

My father has an Apple Mac G3 os 9.1 along with a brand new laptop.
He is looking for a broadband service. Will he be able to link his old Mac G3 OS 9.1 to the Sky modem via the ethernet cable without any issues.

Many thanks

Andy K

Re: Old Apple Mac question

Similar experience recently with an older Mac laptop and recent one-piece desktop Mac with a D-Link Wireless 802.11g cable router. Confusion seemed to arise from wireless standards and the security terminology used by Apple. After days of faffing about, used WEP128 and still couldn't get the laptop to work wirelessly so used ethernet for that.

Re: Old Apple Mac question

Thanks for the reply.

I dont think my father is concerned about the Apple G3 going wireless ( although that would be nice ). His new laptop will provide that. He just wants to know can the G3 work on Sky via a direct connection to the router.

Re: Old Apple Mac question

Can't see any reason why ethernet wouldn't work.

The router doesn't care what OS is on any connected devices... ethernet is ethernet.
