sky smtp problems

Hi I have a ibook G4 using tiger and use entourage as my mail client. I do not seem to be able to send emails using smtp.sky.com anywhere else that at home - is there anyway I can overide this?

iirc You have to be on your Sky connection to use smtp.sky.com

does that mean that I have to find out the smtp address of wherever I happen to be at the time? I have my own domain name that I use and always want to send using that address.

I use this company - http://easily.co.uk/- it's cheap, reliable and it really doesn't matter who your ISP is - and you can access it from anywhere you have web access!!

Then I would suggest that you are a perfect candidate for using google apps. See my signature for a link.

hi Newsreader, ive entered the details as per another user - space goat i think and the smtp details. Its okay if i want to send e mails via the sky pages but not on my own mail via the icon at the bottom of the page ?

my mail is configured to smtp.tools.sky.com:465 - not just to smtp.sky.com

My mail is configured to the standard mail. I can't send any mail!!!!!!!!!

Error Message as this:

This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.

Verify that you have addressed this message correctly. Check your SMTP server settings in Mail Preferences and verify any advanced settings with your system administrator.





Any ideas...this appears to be a big problem for macs!

You can sign up for Google mail and then associate your Sky email address with Google. You can then send mail via Google but the reply-to will be your Sky email address.

I have a business email address not a .sky one - so what do I do then?
