So, what problems are there with Sky, using Apple?
I am with Tiscali, currently. I have an Airport Extreme wireless network set up, which has caused absolutely no problems at all for quite some time.
Now, I want to change to Sky.
Are there any specific problems/bugs to look out for? Can I just use my equipment to connect to Sky, or do I have to use their router, etc?
Any help in making up my mind will be useful.

I am a mac user on Sky. I have had no problems at all, however I don't use an Airport basestation - just the Sky router.
I'm not sure why you would want to keep the Airport Basestation in the loop once you have the Netgear router supplied by Sky.

Thanks for the reply.
Well, I don't necessarily need to use the Airport, but it all works so well with my current ISP.
But if the Sky equipment can the same job, then all well and good. Can the Sky router feed 3 or 4 devices(3 Macs and a Wii) ???

There are 4 ethernet ports on the back for 4 wired devices. Plus capacity for however many wireless devices you have.
I don't think there is anything wrong with continuing with your Airport setup, just that I don't think you'll need it.
The only minor issue I have had is that the wireless signal to my macbook pro is not very strong - a design flaw with the mac rather than the router. It's greatly improved with a plastic bodied computer. My router is on the second floor of the house, and the computers are all on the ground floor.
I still have no problems though, as the signal is fine in the two locations I use the computer - I only have a problem if my wife makes me sit in the kitchen!

This is my first visit here and am looking around to see whether or not to migrate to Sky in the future.
With regard to this thread, is the Netgear router supplied by Sky "n" enabled? If not this would be a reason to keep the Airport Basetation in the loop.
I am currently using a Netgear DG834GT with MBP. Is it possible to continue to use this with Sky?

The router supplied by Sky when I joined back in July 2007 is not "n" enabled (it's a Sky badged Netgear DG834GT, I think it is also referred to as Sky V1 router on these forums, it runs a Sky customised version of the firmware).
I believe it is possible to use your own router but you will need to extract the logon userid & password from the Sky supplied router (and from what I have read, it may not be possible to do this if you get supplied with one of the new router models that Sky have recently released).
Anyway, we have no problems on Sky Mid via the Sky supplied V1 router - 1 x MBP via Wireless, 1 x MB mostly via Ethernet but sometimes via Wireless, 1 x iMac via Ethernet.
