To switch telephone and broadband you should always sign up first with the new provider. This is especially important if you wish to retain your existing telephone number. You can check with your previous service provider that the services have been cancelled once you have the new service/s though in most cases this should be automatic.

The exception is when switching to or from Virgin Media where the broadband will not be automatically cancelled and the telephone service will only be cancelled if the directory number is also being transferred. As Sky own Now TV if you do change from Sky to Now the transfer of these services should be seamless.

You will however need to cancel Sky's TV service directly with Sky. There is a 31 day notice period before the TV service ceases but as you pay a month in advance you will probably already have paid for this service.

      Re: Leaving sky for NowTv

      Seawright is spot on.

After about 20 years of Sky TV, we abandoned them in favour of NOW TV - must be a couple of years ago now. Saved oodles of money.

This year, after almost 11 years on Sky Broadband (of which almost 6 on Sky Fibre), we jumped ship to NOW Broadband "Fab Fibre". Now saving further oodles of money.

Tip: if you are thinking of doing the same re broadband, keep an eye open for one of their flash sales! This will enable you to join at some sort of bargain price.

Conclusion: we should have done it when NOW TV & Broadband first started...

was thinking of moving to now tv broadband, but they have just managed to shoot themselves in the foot, don't want inclusive calls or fibre so there is now no saving over my present suppliers, was interested in the 15 a month.

@janitor Offers seem to vary and they come & go quite regularly, so probably sit tight and wait for the next one to come along that suits you.

      Re: Leaving sky for NowTv

I'm tempted to switch from Sky to Now TV broadband. Sky fibre unlimited will cost 29 a month and Now TV is 25 a month including unlimited landline call plus 50 reward. I've read some awful reviews of Now, though. How are you finding them?
