      Joining Sky

My son is looking at joining Sky he's made an initial enquiry via the online chat, they have offered him Sky Box Set Bundle and Sky Sports and HD pack for £47 per month.
Being recommended by me we are both entitled too £50 gift back, but he's been told he can't have/use the £50 gift as that would mean 2 offers......this sounds confusing, in other words what he is being offered is cheaper than usual pricing.....or have we both lost the plot?

T & Cs for introduce a friend state:
New Customer: Offer only available online. Your friend must live at a different UK address to you. You will select your Prepaid Mastercard® when you join Sky TV. Once you are up and running and we have received your first subscription payment we will invite you to claim your reward online at sky.com/claim. You will be eligible to claim your reward for up to 90 days of your service being activated. Offer limited to one per new customer household. Offer not for Sky group employees or commercial use. Not available with any other offers. Further terms apply.
The package you describe should cost £57 (£31+£20+£6) per month on an 18 month contract. This is already discounted and should rise to £71.50 after 18 months assuming there are no price changes in the interim. There is also a £20 installation fee.

Many thanks, that makes sense, so I have suggested to him to take the offer of £47 over the contract period that would be a better saving.

I don't know what was discussed in the online chat but your son should ensure that the package he has been offered includes all the sports channels if that is what he wants.

I'll drop him a quick text....that would mean the 'old man' wouldn't get his 'recommend a friend'

That's the difference between friends and relatives or should I say, "Blood is thicker than water".
