BT to Sky Broadband using Asus RT-AC87U

      Hi All,

So we are moving from BT to Sky and my current setup is as follows:

Unlocked Openreach Modem - Asus RT-AC87U

This works great with BT as it takes PPPoE, but i hear Sky needs something about DHCP Option 61... (which my router does not support)

I really want to avoid using the Sky Q Hub they have sent, so does anyone have any advice on what to do? I have looked at using Merlin on my router, although i don't want to have to reset my router back to factory settings first (but if i need to i will)

Merlin will work on your asus and get you connected. Plenty of posts with the settings. No need to reset but will need some configuring afterwards on the wan port. No changes to your Open reach modem required.

Will see if I can find you the settings.

Copied from another post. Should get you going
Just make sure you get the format correct for the login..

      WAN Connection Type = Automatic*IP
      Enable WAN = Yes
      Enable NAT = Yes
      Enable UPnP = Yes
      Connect to*DNS*Server automatically = Yes
