Question about Box Set HD package

      Hi guys

I am currently paying 58 / month to Sky, broken down by the following

Box Set Package : 38-00 (comes with HD free)
      Multiroom : 12-00
      Sky Talk : 8-00

I would like the Sports Premier League package at 18-00 / month and to cover the extra cost I was prepared to lose the multiroom and downgrade to the Variety package.

Now my question before I ring Sky up.

Downgrading to the Variety Package what will happen to recordings on my box I have previously recorded in HD. Will I no longer be able to watch them.

      Thanks for any advice given.

Any recordings from channels you lose (as a result of your downgrade) will no longer be viewable.

With the exception of free to air recordings all media files on the boxes hard disk are encrypted and have to be validated (by the viewing card) against your subscription in the same way as live broadcasts before they can be viewed.

      Seawright

      Thanks for the reply.
If I remove just the multiroom, keep the Box Sets with the free HD and take the extra 6-00 hit for the Sky Premier League package, will this channel be avaible in HD for me through having the Box Sets ?

      According to Sky's T&Cs:
      Sky Sports in HD:
6pm on top of your sports subscription if you take 1, 2 or 3 channels or the Complete Sports Pack on a rolling basis or 2pm extra if you take the Complete Sports Pack on a contract and re-contract your TV subscription for 18 months. Only available to Box Sets Bundle customers.

      Wow !

      So one HD package is 24 (18 + 6) and all the packages are 29-50 (27-50 + 2-00)
      Only 5-50 difference

You may be able to get a better offer on the complete sports package with HD if you are willing to re-contract for 18 months.

Re: Question about Box Set HD package

Existing customers can renew their minimum term just now and get Boxsets for 31 or Variety for 25 - it's been advertised in newspapers!
You might have to pay 10 admin charge to get the offer.

      So Boxsets for 31, Full Sports for 20 and HD Sports for 2 = 53 + 8 Skytalk = 61
      Pretty good deal, IMO.
