going back to sky (a few questions)

      Hi
I guess i will find out when i phone them later but for now, forewarned is forearmed.

I have been getting spammed with 60% discount deals since leaving sky just over 12 months ago. finally i have decided to go back.

however my satellite dish is so old, one of the lmbs on my quad lmb is damaged and to be honest my free sat signal is not particularly strong any more.

when i resign up will i get a new dish, or at the very least service the old one by fixing the lmb and realigning it?

      thanks

PS if they send me a new skyQ box that is ok, however i will need a hybrid lmb for my freesat tvs through my home. is this likely to be an issue?

Re: going back to sky (a few questions)

The Sky Q install will be a new dish and lnb, plus the sky main box, mini/s and if you have sky broadband the sky q hub.
You can request a hybrid lnb on your call to sky, but also mention it when your engineer rings the day before as they do not always carry them by default.
They will want proof that you have a freesat capable box at your premises, seems they have tightened up the criteria now.

If you left around 12 months ago then you will have a choice of rejoining as existing customer with existing equipment and getting a service visit. This will give you a bigger discount with a free engineer visit.

Alternatively you could rejoin as a new customer and get Sky Q with a lower discount but for 18 months and free or 10 engineer visit...

Re: going back to sky (a few questions)

      Hi
      Thanks for your replies.

So i am sorted now I rejoined as existing customer for 60% off (8.60 for 12 months for the base package iirc).
also got a free engineer call out coming later in the month and they will install at least a new lmb - but possibly a new dish for me.... (my dish was 1st installed at least 16 years ago)

As I have 6 feeds going to the dish but only a quad lmb with 2 wires taped off at the dish dangling free (with one of the 4 lmbs damaged) she said if i request a larger lmb i should get one.

Re: going back to sky (a few questions)

As you are not getting Sky Q and more then four satellite feeds are required the engineer could replace your quad lnb with an eight outlet octo lnb.
A new dish may be attached to the original mounting bracket if it is still secure.

Re: going back to sky (a few questions)

      Hi all,
My first post as I have just rejoined sky for TV and broadband.
Had my BT letter saying prices were going up in September so I could leave without penalties or being held to contact.
Great to be back with sky.
