So I finally got this installed - single feed mode as live in a flat, not good.

Still waiting for my viewing card, allegedly posted LAST Tuesday! I was told to wait until tomorrow before calling again to chase it up.

Anyhow, all the HD channels are (in theory) there except 5 HD - have rebuilt the Sky Planner and done a factory reset, but wondered if there was a way to scan for channels again?

      Rick.

Just watched the Sky 'Fluid' trailor on thier website, so the silver is the 2Gb box and there is a 1Gb box that can only record 3 channels at the same time....

All we need now is prices!

Sometime back Channel 5 HD swapped from Free-to-View to requiring the HD subscription from Sky.

In either case you'll need that Sky Viewing card to see it.

Ah ok - yes fair enough, but the issue is 5 HD isn't even showing up in the Sky Guide.

Re: 3 week wait for installation!

I'm not 100% sure for where you are regionally speaking, but Channel 5 uses the channel swap and also recently introduced a couple of regional variations for the HD channel.

My Channel 5 HD is on 105. My Channel 5 (SD) is on 171.

Could I ask you to take a look at the link below and see if there are other channels on the same transponder that are also missing from your EPG? If this is the case then it might be that your dish is slightly out of alignment.

      Astra 2A / Astra 2E / Astra 2F / Astra 2G (28.2E) - All transmissions - frequencies - KingOfSat

For example 5 USA, 5 USA +1, 5 +24 and Spike all share the same transponder as Channel 5 London (SD)

I could only find the one listing of Channel 5 HD, which shares the transponder with Sky Living HD and Sky Sports 1 HD.

You can also use this information to manually tune your STB to see if it is an issue with the dish.

      <Service> <Down> 6

This will take you to the 'Add Channels' section.

Re: 3 week wait for installation!

Hey - thanks for the info - I am still; waiting for my viewing card (today is officially day 5 of the predicted 3-5 working days). If it arrives today, I will access the special menu and do a "new install" thing as the engineer couldn't do that. Hopefully 5 HD will appear. I am based in Hampshire (bordering London).

      Rick.

Hopefully the card will arrive today. It's really annoying that it's taken this long already.

I was aware where you are, thanks to your profile. I recall another member not that far from where you are who received what he thought was the wrong local content.

There are some members in the London area whom I know didn't get Channel 5 HD on 105 until perhaps recently, where here I've had it on 105 for some time.

Re: 3 week wait for installation!

Yay! Card received about an hour ago, I set it up as a new install and all the HD channels have been found (including 5 HD!).

The only annoying thing is I am on single feed. The engineer fitted a splitter and said that they (Sky or the management company) had fitted either a new dish or upgraded the current one so dual feeds can be transmitted (live in flats). This is not the case, single feed only.

      Am happy though.

      Rick.

You should have a card with the phone number for the Sky engineer or his/her team.

I would use it and make a friendly call. Give them the good news first and gently let them know in a friendly way that the splitter doesn't work.

I will do - should I just call them direct (a firm called Love Digital) or speak to Sky? In fact, I got a guy allegedly calling me tonight from Sky - I will mention it to him maybe?
