      Hello dawnyworld,

Do you recall the specific details of the deal which you agreed to?

The retentions department have different deals available to offer all the time and they aren't advertised.

Also, for your benefit really, did you make a note of the person whom you spoke with and when? Sky record all their telephone calls and it may be possible to get them to retrieve the call if there is an issue.

How long have the services been running? Your services have a cooling off period, during which you can cancel with no Early Termination Charges.

This is true, however there are specified conditions for this to apply.

As an example, if you were promised a connection speed of 40mb and only get 10mb on SFU, then that is a good reason to cancel without any charges. The conditions do require you to allow Sky & their contractor (BTO Engineers) the opportunity to resolve the issue though.

In a case like this, you should always call up and ask for your M.A.L.S. (Minimum Access Line Speed). If Sky cannot provide you with this within 90 days, you have the right to cancel your contract. The M.A.L.S. on Fibre Unlimited is 'usually' 15mbps.

      Re: cancelling new subscription

hi sorry its been awhile the upshot is sky rang me agreed to a price of 45 for the first 6 months then was to go uto 55 for the second 6 months then after that it was supposed to goto normal price
everything seemed ok price was set on account on the website, after the first week the price went up to 48.50 so i telephoned sky and they said it was ok it was going tobe 48 for 12 months now
a week later the price went upto 55.25 so i rang again they said it was because of the 6.95 for the router delivery but when i viewed my account online it was showing as this was the new monthly payment
i contacted there CSR through the web help and was informed that my bill was going to be 55.25 then the next payment was 112 and told this was what i was going to pay and i was getting nothing else off my bill

so i phoned the CS and he confirmed it i was then advised to goto skys website and make a complaint and he gave me the exact date and time of the first offer and he said they would listen to the call and keep to it

so i did this and and every time they contacted me they would give me a different rendition of what the bill was with no explanation (6 emails at this point and 6 different advisers)
i got fed up at this point and cancelled my whole package

      I don't blame you.

With all that grief I would have been cancelling as well.
