Nope I understand
- the last time I tried was when the account was in my dad's name and we also had sky talk so needed the port over the same number... They wasn't having any of it mind! - still sorted in the end and got 50% off for 12 months - used moneysavingexpert! Have a look on their site!

Re: Calling to cancel Sky
Well after all that buildup, I rang up Sky and the cancellation went through without any hint of an offer, wasn't even "passed on" from the first customer assistant, perhaps because we already had the 12 months 50% off offer they aren't allowed to offer anything else. Oh well, we shall see whats on the market in a months time

VM have some 12 month half price offers, if you can put up with their very slow TiVo box...
I have also heard of customers getting a call back from the 'win back' team after they've cancelled, in order to keep you!

Re: Calling to cancel Sky
I guess I should update this thread with the good news that a few days ago, I was called by a Sky advisor who must have been desperate to keep me, and offered me exactly the same deal to stay for another 12 months. Just shows if you stick to your guns, at least in my case it was Sky that blinked first!

Re: Calling to cancel Sky
Totally Sickening!!!
Unfortunately too true though.
Sky really should go back to the old offer system where the best offer you got was from retentions and then the returning/new customer offers weren't as good.
Unfortunately they continue to devalue the product with this kind of deal.
