Will downgrading to 40 also mean a download limit? I know on BT 80 is unlimited where 40 is limited.

It depends on the package & contract length.

      Standalone 40Mb (infinity 1) has a 20GB limit.
Infinity 1 + weekend calls on 12 month contract has a 20GB limit.
Infinity 1 + weekend calls on 18 month contract is unlimited.
