I am also going to grumble to them about the fact they tried to charge me another month @ 29.99. The only reason they couldn't is because I stopped the direct debit.

By my reckoning I should owe then a couple of quid

Speak to billing, explain that you have some pro-rata charges from Openworld. Give them the date of of the MAC release and tell um' this "I WILL NOT pay anymore money".

I have spoken to billing twice already, I seem to be getting a better response via email so I am going to wait and see what this "generated final bill" is and how much they reckon I owe them for the two days. Anymore crap from them and they will not know what has hit them

Well I got a email today from BT saying that I don't owe anything infact they owe me about 7. Talk about a mess, I can't wait for that cheque to arrive so I can draw a line through this. It is a good job I stopped the direct debit otherwise they would have owed me more than 7 as I have no doubt they would have took another months payment.

At least you have it in writing and a small refund, I would send it them back and state that they obviously need it more than you!

      The latest..

Today I recieved two pieces of paper from BT, one is labled as an 'account summary' and the other as invoice, they both state that the payment due is -12.00, I guess this is the ammount they owe me. On the bottom it is labeled as a 'bank giro credit' and it states that 'no action is required' and to refer to the statement of account for your account balance'.

So how on earth do I get this 12.00, I tried phoning the BT billing department but they only work to 1pm on a Saturday and I phoned at 1.30.

      Answers on a postcard please..

As I have left BT it shouldn't go onto any bill for next month. I have mailed my contact at the billing department hopefully I will get a explanation as this makes no sense.

Demon have tried to carry on charging me and have got a debt collection agency to write to me for 19.99. I received my MAC code at the end of August and paid Demon until the beginning of October which I'd class as at least 30 days notice. They are saying that my notice period doesn't start until the day I migrate, is this correct?
      Connection down since 27/10/06

You will have to check out the small print for the answer to that one I reckon.

I still haven't heard anything more from BT so it looks like I will be calling them up on Saturday before 1.30 though !!
