XPS 18 Portable All-in-One Desktop Details | Dell UK

      TIA.
Can't say I've had a problem with them and they really do have some insane offers particularly at the factory outlet if you catch it at the right time it's possible to pickup an i5 or i7 Laptop with an Nvidia/ATI GPU for under 500, won't be top of the range but will play most games on reasonable settings.

The business store also usually has some good offers particularly if you're not interested in gaming graphics, Been using Vostro 3360's at work and been happy with them so far. We did have one go wrong (problem with the CPU Fan) but they came out next day and fixed it even though that one didn't actually have onsite support on it.

They were doing the i3 version of the Vostro 3360 with 4gb ram 500gb HDD + 32GB SSD cache, with 2 years onsite NBD support for 346 inc vat and delivery the other week, the i5 was only about 50 more. Really are nice machines not quite ultrabooks but close enough... Opps I sound like an advert!

The trick with Dell is to watch the prices carefully as they change frequently and always check both the Store and the Outlet before buying anything this is particularly true with outlet machines as sometimes you get a great deal and other times due to various discounts they're offering it's actually cheaper to buy the brand NEW machine from the main store :-/

I had trouble with YouTube, it kept telling me my browser was outdated and I needed to get a new one... I got rid of 10 and downgraded to 9, no trouble then. Apparently some websites only read the first letter of the version number and assume you're using IE 1

99% of the time though I use FF.

The fun bit is that M$ are introducing IE11 with Windows 8.1.

      Cannot wait for 8.1

BTW, I'm typing this on my new XPS18 which is rather cool It has only taken a couple of hours to get used to the touch interface, so far I like it very much.

      Re: Dell XPS 18

It should work well since it appear to fit in with M$ had in mind for Windows 8.

I'm still getting used to features such as jumping between screens here. Also missing the 'Start' button.
