Cant see NAS files on TV?

      Hey

I have a panny 50" G20 Plasma, and I can see my NAS and other computers, but for some reason there is no files showing on my NAS.

It says VIDEO - MUSIC - MUSIC, But when you press to enter it says it cant.

Do I need to make any adjustments? I am sharing the NAS with my netowrk, and can access it on everything else.

      Thanks

Re: Cant see NAS files on TV?

Is this a new NAS drive that you have installed?

Not knowing the specific model of the drive and how the TV needs to see the files, does make things a little difficult. With my setup I have to take into account the following:

      * using DLNA, I need to share the files on my Laptop for my Samsung TV

      * on my XP PC and using Samsung's software, I need to share the specific folders and update the database for DLNA to pickup the folders and files shared. I have also found that not all the files shared are seen by the TV

So what I would ask is that you check the DLNA sharing abilities of your NAS drive to see if this resolves the problems in the first instance.

Others may have more specific information if you could confirm which drive you have.

      Strange.

I am guessing that you have also contacted the manufacturers to ask about software updates.

It does seem that DLNA has a hit or miss issue at present and compatibility issues need to be resolved.
