XP 32 bit and ram

I know that a 32 bit operating system will only show 3gb of ram.

But am I right in thinking that if i've got 4gb of ram installed and a graphic card with 1gb on it.

The system will only show 2gb of ram installed or should it show more.

Just asking as if it should show more i might have a bad stick of ram.

Thank in advance

Re: XP 32 bit and ram

I've got 4gb of ram and a 1gb graphics card and it's showing 3.25gb, which is about right.

Try taking a stick of ram out, booting up, swapping ram, booting again and then same in the other slot, should work out the problem from that.
