what do you mean? http is the web standard and isn't specific to your ISP...the CD doesn't do anything either so don't use it unless you want McAfee...

Re: pc doesnt support http for broadband on sky

well, its a PC problem, not a Sky BB problem...

first thing is to check you have TCP/IP enabled on the PC...

assuming it's Windows XP, go to Control Panel and you want to go into Network Connections (change CP to classic view if you need to). Once in there, you should have an icon for 'Local Area Connection'. Right-click on it and select 'properties'. In the properties window that'll open, make sure it has the entry 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' in the box headed 'This connection uses the following items'.

IF it doesn't, that's why you can't get on...OR if you don't even have the 'Local Area Connection' it'd lead to it not having the ethernet controller installed...

Re: pc doesnt support http for broadband on sky

looking at the network icon in the system tray - bottom right of screen - is it just 2 monitors, or do they have a globe over them? if Vista has it saying 'Access Local and Internet' then it's an IE issue...

might be worth booting in 'Safe Mode with Networking' (when booting PC press F8 continuously until you see a menu listing Safe Mode etc. and select Safe Mode with Networking). if this allows access then its a pc issue - or more than likely software booting with Windows...

What security software is on there ? Norton/Macafee/pc-cillin etc

Disable all of these and then try.
