Re: Say Hello

Hi, My names Shaun, I'm 41 and live on the IOW - I'd have posted sooner, but thanks to Sky's incompetance, I've been offline for 7 days so unfortunately I couldn't seek help on here.

Been a Sky TV customer since 1990 and the Amstrad 400 analogue box, went digital in 2000 and got Sky+ in 2004, and will get HD when the boxes are under £100 fitted and no £10pm fee.

Re: Say Hello

Hi all. I work in IT and I got Sky broadband a week ago after 4 weeks with Pipex. Got fed up of them messing me about so opted for a cheaper, faster option.
I'm 38, married and have 2 children, one of each.

Re: Say Hello

Hi to all Out There.

Visited site last night and quickly registered, as it seems a really useful tool
for new Sky broadband customer/users.

Thanks to all you clever providers.

Migrated from Pipex and came looking for router info. about Sky's
'determinedly dedicated" wireless router.

After some teething probs. with drop out, I found that switching off UpNp
in the router has steadied the ship- working fine now on our home (cabled)
network.

Re: Say Hello

Hey. I've signed up to Sky BB on cost grounds and at present an uncontended service not to mention ADSL2.

Forums are proving very useful especially the tech help since it's practically non existant from Sky!

Lightbulb Re: Say Hello

Well, after months of reading and digesting the facts, I have today requested a MAC off Orange..... told 48hrs via email.... we'll see

As soon as I get it i will register with Sky...... and see how my experience unfolds.......

Laughed at the Orange CS...... asked the usual... why, who...blah blah....I told him I was migrating to Sky....... "have you read all the bad reports on the forums?" he asked......

"Of course I have, but I have also read the Orange forums along with all the other ISPs......"
Silence!

Anyway... let's see what happens.....

By the way.... never had any trouble with Orange...... may all change soon

Re: Say Hello

Afternoon all. I'm Phil, 23 from Baildon nr Bradford.

Just signed up to Sky for everything, TV, Talk and BB. TV and Talk - so far so good. BB been a little bit unstable since installed, but it's only been a week so hope things might improve. Router kept freezing up, even though UPnP was disabled, but am having a second router sent out to try. Let's see what happens!!!

Great forum anyway, looks a lot more technical than the support from Sky themselves!
