Another new forum member, I signed up for a Sky all in one package in December and now have HD, telephone and Internet with them.

Moved from Plusnet - fed up with getting capped (three boys streaming video via Wii and Xbox) and their email system is a joke. Got a bit caught out by the Sky SMTP setup, but have been able to send non-sky domain email through their servers and would like an alternative.

      Hello

I am here to try and get some friendly advice and support re using my sky broadband connection/Outlook and company emails. Have tried the sky tech team who told me to speak to my IT dept. (small company 4 employees, we work from home....there is no IT dept!)

I will try to find the appropriate place to post my questions and will offer lots of tea and sympathy to others in the same frustrating position as me!

      Re: Say Hello

Hi. I'm joining sky (today actually - everything gets installed on monday) after being given the runaround by virgin media and having what might be described as an epiphany in terms of my internet usage.

I'm a currently unemployed 33 year old living in plymouth, with a bit of seasoning in many fields, including that of sky when it was branded sky digital back in the day actually. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

      Re: Say Hello

      Hello Peeps,

I guess I should say ďHiĒ, so HI!

I took up a Sky package due to being mucked about by BT and not wanting to touch Virgin. My ISP (a small independent) was great, but I was paying BT for the line and they couldnít take on the line rental over (huge shame).

To date Iíve been happy with the package (Sky+ HD, Talk & BB unlimited). I used to have Sky some 10+ years ago, just before it went digital. Things have changed a lot. No more German channels.

I worked in PC support some years ago and try to keep my eye on things. Search engines help hugely, but so does life experience, of which Iíve had a little too much off in recent years. If I were to detail my computer setup, itíd baffle many, but it works well for me.

Just now Iím single and not looking for anyone. Iím no longer working either, just living off the benefits. So I guess that Iím rather sad and stay at home most of the time watching the telly.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB

Try this - it works great - I was directed to it after sending issues with the Sky SMPT server.

      Re: Say Hello

Hi! Am new to this forum. Am hoping to get some good advice on how to get Outlook 2007 working on mynew PC to collect Sky emails ! It is driving me nuts - I have spendt hours over the last six weeks to solve the problem so I thought I would join the forum before I stamp on this machine. I use a computer at work all day but I am not au fait with all this fandangled stuff. So can you make me sane again??
