Re: Playstation 3 as a Blu-Ray Player

i own both the ps3 and the x360, - at the moment, im getting a bit fed up with the ps3.

I enjoy the blu-rays, but never really end up watching any.

When i get games, i find they are pretty much the same as the x360, and the exclusives are not my cup of tea generally.

Im starting to get annoyed that the bluray drive is so slow on the ps3, which is why all the games these days need to be installed to the hard drive. Whats the point in having 25 gig + discs, if you have to install half the game to the hard drive to play it!!??

I know that games will improve with time, but so will the cost.

So anyone who already has an x360, and whats a ps3, id suggest to stick with what you have got.

Re: Playstation 3 as a Blu-Ray Player

Yep got to add to the chorus of approval by also saying it's great as a media player, will play DiVX, and now Xvid with the latest update. Also Mpeg 1, 2, and even BBC HD DVB-S H.264 streams. Very nice. And it does it all wirelessly. Lovely. Funnily enough I havn't even bought a single game for it yet.

Oh, and it upscales DVD's very nicely too. I can't fault it. I love mine.
