Hi all can someone shed a bit of light on a LLU operator know as Updata done a search but it comes up with a USA firm, only asking as it is at my exchange in Tenby found out through sams knows, if I can find some more info or someone point me in right direction will plaster it over website and Blog as 16mb is better than 8mb and I would think quite alot of Businesses and personal users would sign up as we have no other at this exchange.
I wonder if this it, if so it would seem they deal mainly with the Public Sector & Private side of things.
Quote:
We have unbundled more than 200 telephone exchanges across the UK, for clients such as Dorset County Council, Essex County Council and Vodafone. Using SHDSL and ADSL technologies, LLU enables us to build and scale those networks efficiently, without planning permissions or unpredictable red tape.
Updata Infrastructure UK operate build customised "carrier class" network infrastructure, primarily for the public sector.
Whilst few consumers will be directly familiar with their services, many schools, councils and other public bodies make extensive use of their network, particularly in Dorset, Essex and Wales.
They have recently begun providing us with their coverage data, and we'll be updating this on a regular basis where available.
So that means no way of signing up though may be able to get of this £17 a month and opt for 16mb at £10 have to wait a bit longer then, surely if they think there is a need for it other LLU operators will follow to get business ?
So now updata has placed it's LLU equipment in the exchange where I live that means that there is a demand for the product here and thy are the first in, so hopefully sky and the others will follow
As above they may just be supplying business services at the exchange which can make them more money obviously. If there is low demand or low prospect of financial reward for unbundling an exchange no one will do it.
