    ati or nvidia

This is a discussion on ati or nvidia within the Gaming on Sky forums, part of the Sky Broadband help category; I use a Radeon to output to a HDTV. It's great. I did have a couple of Nvidias before that ...

Just got an ATI X1950XT, awesome card!

In terms of a 100 budget it's worth checking out ebay or other second hand shops as an awful lot of people are going to be flogging their ATI X1950Pro (also a highly rated card and better than the Nvidia equivalent) to buy the newly released Nvidia 320MB 8800.

Double check the x1950. I can't see a 512Mb version for that sort of money.

Not to be confused with the XTX version which are still silly bucks + VAT!

      Re: ati or nvidia

I had horrendous problems with my ATI Radeon graphics card, it kept crashing my PC. After googling I found that this was a common problem and upgrading the driver was recommended - I upgraded the driver and it was still happening - often several times an evening. Eventually I got fed up & bought an nvidia (& installed it myself!! ). I was talking to the guy at the shop where I bought it, and he said that in his experience ATI were really good cards - but they were let down by the software ....
      Try a google ...
