      Xbox Advice required

Thanks to you all for taking the time to read this first of all, I am very grateful.

After 14 long, painful weeks I was finally activated to Sky Max yesterday but now i have the task of trying to get my xbox 360 online. Now my laptop (not wireless enabled) is one end of the hall way and the xbox is the other in the lounge. Currently I have the routher plugged into my laptop via an ethernet cable.

Now i believe i have three options but i was keen to find out in peoples experience which is most reliable/fastes speeds,no lags etc.

So option 1 - buy the xbox network adaptor and get on wirelessly?! that way

Option 2 - buy a wireless enabled card for the laptop, plug the router directly into the xbox 360 via an ethernet cable and then just use the laptop wirelessly.

Option 3 - run a second ethernet cable all the way down the hallway making no use of the fact the sky router is wireless

If option 2 is the best - could anyone recommend the best card to buy that works well with the router?

Your advice is greatly appreciated, Thank you

Option one is the easiest to be honest, It's well worth going for. If you don't want to splash out on the official 360 wireless adapter (although imo its very worth it) then there are a few 3rd party ones for a tenner or so cheaper.

      Good luck.

The easiest and most cost effective way would be to buy the Netgear Rangemax, http://www.netgear.co.uk/rangemaxnex...11b.php?type=h

Cyrus, would you suggest the wireless netword card is a more reliable way to do it than the xbox adaptor?
and plugging the 360 directly into the router via an ethernet cable should reduce the chance of slow speeds and lagging?

Cyrus can i also check, does that card you've suggested work with the router Sky supplied?
A work colleague suggested to me i would need a rangemax router for that card to work?

IMO option 1 is your best bet, yes there are plenty of cheaper third party adapters about but its a good adapter and very easy to set up.

      Re: Xbox Advice required

For the maximum speeds you can achieve, option 3 is the best bet.
Xbox 360's come with a fairly long ethernet cable, if thats not long enough, then purchase another.

To be honest, considering the prices.. I'd give all three a shot. :P

      I'd go for option 3.

      Re: Xbox Advice required

I'd pick any option where the xbox is connected via ethernet... pings are high enough on Sky as it is without having to deal with any introduced via a wireless connection and atmospheric conditions

      Re: Xbox Advice required

I currently use the Xbox wireless adaptor with no problems with connection or ping,
