I think you are suffering from screen lag - my ping is the same as yours and I do not see what you are saying on mine. I can play quite happily.
but then why is it that at 30ms~ish everything is fine??? anything above 55ms and things start to get laggy.

Re: pings on sky broadband, high or low

      well i have:

AMD Opteron 175 Dual Core 2.2GHz 2mb cache
      2GB G.Skill ZX 3200 @ 2-3-2-5
      ASUS SLi Deluxe Motherboard
      NVidea GeForce 7800GTX 256mb
      DVD+/-RW
      Windows XP Pro SP2
      SoudBlaster Live!
250gb Maxtor Diamond Max 10 HDD IDE
      120gb Toshiba HDD IDE
300gb Maxtor Diamond Max 10 HDD Ext
320gb Maxtor Diamond Max 21 HDD Ext

      Running dual display:
      Belinea 22" Widescreen LCD 5ms @ 1680 x 1050
      Compaq 21" P1220 CRT @ 1280 x 1024 @ 120Hz

I doubt my specs are not up to scratch but i've tried running the game on both of the screens and still the same. its only really nice and smooth up till like 50ms max. At 55ms and over its starts to get really laggy for some reason

Re: pings on sky broadband, high or low

Well with the specs you have I would probably rule out screen lag, but the pings just don't affect me - wierd.

Re: pings on sky broadband, high or low

well yesterday using tweaks on the console i realised that my latency/ping which i managed to get down to 5 yesterday does not make a difference to my lag.
it was 5 and i was still getting lag.
      what can i do!?

Re: pings on sky broadband, high or low

      My first post on here.

Having moved from Pipex 2mb to sky max (getting around 4-5mb down and about 500-700 up) and while torrents and the like have imroved massively (pipex had awful traffic shaping as well as slow dl speeds) my ping has at least doubled if not trippled.

Used to get around 20-30 on UK servers and now while checking for servers within Counter Strike the very lowest I can find is around 80 and thats if i'm lucky. On the servers I usually play i get an average of around 100 which just ruins the game tbh. Am going to try ringing sky to switch to fastpath but from what I've read it seems unlikely but can always try.

Any other suggestions much appriciated (have dissconected ring wires and optomised my connection)
      Thanks much
