Have you opened all the ports on the router?
In order to play the Battlefield 2142 demo online, you must have the following ports open in your firewall.

Well it aint Sky specific as I got disconnected a few times last night and I am on F2S
But according to the read me - it quite clearly states to open the ports, normally I would only open them if I was serving a game though.

It looks like the game maybe available in the good old US today, while we have to wait for Friday! so hopefully EA where just trying to upgrade the EA master servers in time for the release date.......or in other words EA have naffed up the release and are desperately trying to fix it!!I have sold my sold soul and joined SkyBroadband

I've got the game but I just don't like it. Weapons seem to be pretty week, even when compared to BF2, and sniping just is no fun anymore, you can either go for the **** easy 2 shot body shots or the near to impossible at range headshot. Aside from that I'm just no longer feeling what DICE create anymore, I've had it with BF2 too and haven't played for months (I had racked up 400+ hours, crazy where the time goes).
I'll probably be sticking to DOD:S as my multiplayer game until ET:QW or TF2 comes out.

The EA servers were under heavly load due to the 1.5million demo downloads, its all fixed now as the US and australia have had their releases and ours is today.
The EA server does not currently save stats but we believe that its because the 20th is the world wide launch of 2142 (well it was supposted to be, they made a right mess of this). By the time we have our copies the stats server will be working fine \o/
