Random Lag Spike every 5-10 minutes SagemcomF@ST2504n

I have been with sky for the best of 3 months and last Monday i played games as I normally would and i notice im getting "Attempting to Reconnect" in the game League of Legends. And my ping would rocket from a 40 to a 500 and i cannot move my character around or anything but i can hear my friends talking in skype to me. So i thought maybe its a game issue so i went over to Diablo 3. And the same thing happened my guy would just stand there doing nothing and i would probably just die in game and its getting very frustrating.
      System Details
      Manufacturer Sagemcom
      Model Number F@ST2504n
      Firmware Version 6.14.1a4N_UNI
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pD035g.d23j1

If anyone can help me solve the problem i would be very grateful. Also I have rung sky but they didn't seem to understand what I was saying so I've googled myself to this website and it seems very active so i hope someone can help

Re: Random Lag Spike every 5-10 minutes SagemcomF@ST2504n

nothing showing as issue on those setting at moment and good ping to bbc.co.uk , take note of the line stats if you see in noise margin going up and down then you would be picking up interference (possible microfilter, wiring issue) run a netstat with browser open and with browser closed should not see more than 10 connections running , does skype show any problems ?

Do you have the same problems using wireless?

Some people had issues a while ago with games like teamspeak3 & wow & it turned out to be your firmware version 6.14.1a4N_UNI was at fault. It only affected wired connections though.

      See.
      Sagem 2504n New FW Issues - 6.14.1a4N_UNI

There's quite a long thread on the official sky forums all about, where i think diablo was mentioned too.
Unfortunately, the site appears to be undergoing maintenance at the moment, so can't double check

Re: Random Lag Spike every 5-10 minutes SagemcomF@ST2504n

The sky forums are back up. This is the thread i mentioned:

Sky Help Forum - The Cause of the High Pings / TS3 / etc issues....... - Help & Support from the Official Sky Forum

I couldn't find the reference to diablo3, but league of legends is mentioned as early as page 3.

A quick test using wireless should ascertain wether it's the routers firmware or not.
