      New Backhaul?

Looks like sky are putting some new backhaul in
or turning on a feature for the new gear they put in last year

Im 150miles from london and force a 12db margin to minimize crc errors

in the past two years this has resulted in between a 10ms and 12ms ping to london
      depending on the server

with around 3ms being to the exchange and 7ms being the backhaul to london
it seems that some of the new backhaul is doing it in 2ms to london

remember that 2ms is round trip time so its taking 1ms to get there and 1ms back

      happy days

      Re: New Backhaul?

Someone posted a couple of months back that they saw some contractors for Sky installing some cables alongside the A4.

Since then I have heard that the network is being improved again, since the improvements announced at the beginning of the year.

It sounds like everything may actually be coming into place at last.
