      Xbox help

      Hi Guys,

      First post, hi to all..!

Having a little issue with my Sky BB and the ea servers.

Just moved to sky bb last week and got a F@ST2504n router. Set this up all fine and have connected the xbox using the wireless.

When playing the xbox, it connects fine to live & also signs into the ea servers. The issue is when I try to play a game, e.g. an ultimate team game. Message pops up and says 'connection lost to ea server'. This was working fine on Orange Broadband last week with my netgear router.

Guessing if I play with a few settings on the router I could get it working, any idea which one would be the best to start with?

      Thanks.

      Re: Sky Broadband + Xbox

Some find that putting the box's IP address into the DMZ of the router helps with connection/disconnection problems. It can also help to give your Box a fixed IP.

Have a look at this section-

      Re: Sky Broadband + Xbox

Thanks, created a static IP and set up port forwarding for several suggested ports. Seems to be working but will give it a full test later on.

      Thanks,

      Re: Xbox help

I am having the exact same problem, port forwarding does nothing, putting my xbox in the DMZ with a reserved IP does nothing! I just tried out of interest putting my pc in the DMZ and probing the ports using GRC shields up and they are all still stealth despite being in the DMZ! Any ideas as to why it doesn't work? Very annoying trying to use xbox live.

if you get a nat type of 2 then its the same as my ps3s nat type i dont think you can get nat type of 1 unless you connect it directly to the net ie without a router lol

Try disabling your PC firewall and see what happens.

If you have properly configured the DMZ for your console it should be bypassing the firewall, so I don't know what is going on.

Haha how stupid am I, of course my PC firewall is blocking it.

Anyway after a reboot of the router the xbox is fine in the DMZ with a reserved IP now.
