Unhappy Sudden disconnects on World of Warcraft

      Hey there!

Currently I've been getting quite terrible disconnections from World of Warcraft. Of course, the first thing I did was contact - them - and ask - them - what to do, I did a couple of things, yet nothing changed, I still kept getting these horrible DC's.

The DC's can happen at any random time, day or night - World of Warcraft will be running completely fine and smoothly, then suddenly I'll be kicked off (normally followed by another 2 - 8(!) disconnects every 6 seconds) then it'll stop, about 10 minutes - 3 hours later, it'll happen all over again.

I then phoned Sky, and asked if there was anything wrong my end; 30 minutes of conversation and tests on, they confirm nothing is wrong with my internet.

(Note: it is - ONLY - World of Warcraft that disconnects like this, Skype and MSN are all completely fine, all the time).

I did a Pathping once for Blizzard, and they said they sent 100 packages, and only 88 got back - but that was it, they never said what to do.

      Is there any way of

      1) Upgrading my Router at all?
      2) Getting Sky to update their "package headers" (a suggestion given by a friend)
      3) Sorting this problem out! D: It's never happened before!

      Post up your stats:

How to get your router statistics

You connecting the machine via ethernet or wireless?
All other machines are fine (i.e. can access the internet fine) when you disconnect?

Re: Sudden disconnects on World of Warcraft

I am currently using a second computer (the one without the router), and using wireless.

However, I've played WoW for years, and never had this problem. It has only just started around 1 or 2 months ago.

And yes, the internet itself does NOT drop out, ONLY World of Warcraft disconnects.

Is this your thread on the WoW forum?

If it is not, you might want to have a look there, you are not the only one with the problem.

It is, but I am trying to get a collection of things to do, to see if any of them will solve the problem. ^_^

Re: Sudden disconnects on World of Warcraft

      Old thread but here goes!

Lately I have been getting the exact same problem as the opening poster in world of warcraft. Exactly the same.

I am on skype (on a call), on ventrilo, browing the web, and logged into world of warcraft the same time, then randomly wow (world of warcraft) will suddenly disconnect. No lag or delay before the disconnect happens, just instant disconnect.

Meanwhile I am still connected on skype and there is 0 interference to my current call. I can continue to browse the web, when I check my router stats the line has not resynced or obtained a new ip.

The only other appication that disconnects at exactly the same time as wow is ventrilo.

I am at a loss to why this is happening and would appreciate any feedback!

      Thanks.
