Re: Problem with XBOX 360 Media Centre

first thing would be check that the ports are open on your router they will be different ports for Media Center if you go to the site Port Forwarding Guides Listed by Manufacturer and Model - PortForward.com and select your router from the list the application should be under XBOX 360 Media Center or XBOX 360 Extender then reboot the router Windows Firewall should be ok already simply load Windows Media Center and when you have done the above turn on the Xbox the PC should pick it up and follow the instructions.

What are you trying to connect to it with? Normally you would not have to open ports to access anything within your network. If you are using Win 7, go to the Control Panel>Windows Firewall Click 'Allow program...feature through the Windows firewall', click Changes Settings then tick 'Media centre extenders' .
