      2 Xboxes & Netgear DG834GT router

      Hi,

I have 2 xboxes in the house and was wondering how, if at all, I can connect them both to xbox live at the same time. I can only seem to get 1 to connect at any 1 time. The firmware of the DG834GT router is V1.03.87

If it isn't possible with this router do Sky provide/sell a router that is compatible and will accomodate 2 xboxes straight out of the box?

Any idiots guide to setting up the router/xboxes would be good or info on the new router that i need.

      Thanks in advance

I believe the Dlink, which is no longer supplied will and I am almost sure that the Sagem 2304n which Sky now supply does as well. Sky will not normally supply another router unless the old one has stopped working. Even then if the router is out of warranty they will want to charge 28 for a replacement. Many have got out of this, but it depends on what agent you get whether they will put it through foc.
Wait for confirmation that the new Sagem is compatible with 2 Xboxes before committing to anything.

Some have reported that port forwarding one Xbox and putting the other into the DMZ works, but I cannot confirm this.

      Re: 2 Xboxes & Netgear DG834GT router

yes this router you have is perfectly equipped for this best to use via a Wired connection, simply include one Xbox in the DMZ and open the ports for the Second that is my current setup and has been on the routers listed below:

      Netgear DG834G
      Netgear DG834GT
      Netgear DG934G
      SagemCom 2304n
      BT Homehub 2.0a
      Belkin Surf and Play

always works fine only hitch is on one you may have to test connection for xbox live in xbox settings to detect open ports.
