      Exclamation - D-Link - network Lag Problems

Hi, iv came to this sky users forums because i have a problem with my network, I use to be with virgin broadband which is fantastic, but then my parents moved to sky because of the great offers and sky+ HD and guaranteed fast broadband.

Here are some results of a speed and ping test i have done recently
      http://www.speedtest.net/result/1246063410.png

My Results speaks for themselves i am currently suffering.. my mums going to call sky about it but i was just wondering.

I Have a Belkin G+ Mimo Router and i was just wondering if i could somehow connect the belkin router with the d-link router(skyprovided) and somehow get a better connection?)

I take it you mean the network cable? The Sky router does not use USB. Experience has shown that you will nearly always get better results with ethernet compared to wireless.

I rather suspect you may be on Connect, but when you post your stats that will show whether you are or not.

While you are doing the stats, also plug into your Test socket and post them from there as well.

There is no need to post in bold by the way, most of us can read normal text quite easily.

      Re: - D-Link - network Lag Problems

Are you currently connected to your Master Socket?

Are you using the sky supplied ADSL cable?

Does everything that is connected to a telephone socket have a micro filter on the end of it?

      Re: - D-Link - network Lag Problems

Q1 ) There is a master socket then i put a micro filter over it and connect to that.

      2) I haven't used sky supplied ADSL cable because i use wireless.

Q3) Well Downstairs where the sky+HD box is there is a phone socket but is has a micro filter but upstairs in my mums room where the sky box is I never added the other micro filter to her telephone socket..

Could that be the problem & also should i change my router location because it is currently at the door on the floor..

How many telephone sockets do you use?
Is there a microfilter connected directly into each telephone socket in use, ensuring that nothing is before the filter?
Is the router connected to the master socket or an extension socket?
Are you using the short grey dsl cable that Sky provided, or running an extension telephone cable to the router?
Do you have Sky tv connected to any telephone sockets?
Do you have a test socket?
