      Xbox live issues (again)

      Hello,

Unfortunately since joining sky and this forum i have had nothing good to say about sky internet. Which is a shame as their tv/phone are good.

I have sky connect, meaning i drop to below 100kbs between 5pm- midnight, making live unplaybale.

The other day and i have read all the other threads on this before posting. Sky updated their routers. Meaning it blocked most of microsofts services, live.xbox.com, msn and my xbox could not sign into live even though using my 3 mobile dongle i could connect without issue.

Reading the end of the long thread on here in which lots of people replied, towards the end saying it was fixed.

But just now it has happened again, at this time i cant connect any microsoft services or xbox live.

Is this something thats just going to happen now, with no fix at all? As because of my sky connect issues i can only play on live during the early hours.

I tried changing the MTU, reset, screaming and nothing worked.

I don't think anyone here would disagree with you. The advice to all on Connect is get off it, as soon as you can.

Thats my plan, although where i live we are out of the area for all the good services. Sure we can get BT, but the only package from them is still speed tapped to hell.

There are others, like Plusnet, who use a rebadged BT product, who have better conditions.

I used to be with Eclipse. I found Eclipse to be good. There are also many others.

I only changed because the telephone was through BT and I found their service below what I would call 'human'.

To be fair and impartial, I would strongly suggest that you look around the web and see who can offer you a reasonable set of terms & conditions. Next search for any official & unofficial support groups. There are plenty around now.

      Re: Xbox live issues (again)

All Internet traffic is actually managed and directed through specific routes. This is partially to help with caching.

The specific cause of the issue over the weekend hasn't been posted on this site, but is is likely it was to do with the MSN & Xbox site as it seemed to affect a very wide number of ISPs across the UK.

Any website is prone to 'bugs' and also DDoS attacks.
