You have your email address where the telephone exchange should be, I strongly recommend that you correct this unless you love Spam.

What i want to do was to see if Sky or anyone else has an LLU service in your local telephone exchange. If there is, then I'd strongly consider dumping Sky Connect ASAP and changing promptly.

Take a look here: SamKnows - Telephone Exchange Search

If sky has a presence, the call and ask why you are not on the sky LLU. It is likely that the unit is full, but you should have been made aware of this before agreeing to join.

      Hi Scubbie.

Will give them a call tomorrow + see what they say as LLU is available according to that website.

Maybe I will have to try and get a long ASDL cable to stretch the router near a power socket as a solution.

Do you recommend I just get another provider?

      Thanks

      Jonny

You would seriously be better off placing the Sky Router as near as physically possible to the Master Socket and using the Grey ADSL cable supplied by Sky to connect it to the socket.

Use an extension for the power supply and a long Ethernet cable if necessary.

This set up will provide you with the best broadband speed.

As for another provider, first chase Sky and find out why you are not on their LLU. It may either have been recently upgraded or full. Find out how soon they can correct the circumstances and get you on the equipment.

If they can't do it soon, then do some research.

Firstly see who else has LLU equipment at your exchange and what packages they can offer.

Next see who else can offer you a descent BB package. Google can help provide a list of sites where you can evaluate different ISPs.

Look at what existing users say and see if the packages can offer what you personally require.

Finally gather some evidence to show that Sky BB Connect does not provide you with a reasonable package and obtain you MAC code without any penalties.

The best way to do this is to gather several tests from the Official BT Tester, both within and outside the peak times. The tester is always busy so you may need several attempts to get a result.
