Hi, my pc is connected to the netgear black router via ethernet and so is my brothers xbox, and my sister is always on youtube and my mum is always on skype and this destroys my connection so much that there's no point in playing as the connection is so bad.
      heres my pingtest:

      and speedtest:

is there anything I can do to fix this? because we're considering switching to virgin's 50mb package.

      Are you having a laugh?
You have a grade A ping and fast bandwidth.
I am a single user and through the test socket get about 50ms ping grade B, 80ms ping on speedtest. I think anything under 100ms is considered good for ping broadband speeds.
But i wish mine was as low as yours, your gaming must be good.
Have you done a tracert test to BBC - Homepage

So you have 4 people on the net at once using high bandwidth applications? What do you expect was going to happen?

It's the router. The Netgear DG934G does not do any kind of QoS or any other form packet prioritisation so it can't properly handle this scenario.

You should have no problem getting all this down a Sky broadband connection with those statistics. I frequently go to LAN parties where there will be 4 of us playing various online games and using VOIP on the original Netgear DG834GT.

Ring Sky up and con a new D-Link out of them. I can get myself gaming on the PC, a brother gaming on the PS3 and a few Ipads on our connection without any connection destruction.

      Happy fragging.
