You're probably going to need a fixed IP. IIRC Sky won't be able to give you this so you're looking at changing ISP.

Re: How do you make a internet accessible IP address?

The IP address it wants is the external/ WAN IP not your internal Lan IP. You should have another IP showing in your router setup page, possibly a 90. IP.

      Try clicking here

but you may also find some games need ports on the router opened for people to connect to your game.

The IP address that Sky allocates to your router (not to your computer) changes from time to time - your router then allocates IP addresses to the various devices that you connect although you can turn the automatic process off and set your own LAN addresses.

An outside system that wants to connect to your server will need to know the IP address of your router and your server, since this is liable to change with Sky the best option is to use an internet provider who will allocate your router a fixed address.

Re: How do you make a internet accessible IP address?

I think the problem the OP is having is that the software he is using is detecting only his local address and probably requires a direct USB modem connection with an external IP assigned directly to the computer. You may be able to trick the software by changing your LAN IP range handed out by the router to an internet range IP. Lets say for example you set the router to 220.112.3.1 and then let the router give out IP's in the range 220.112.3.2 to 220.112.3.255, the software should then detect your lan address and think it's an external one. As others have said though you will need to forward ports from your router to make the server work properly.
