Re: Playstation and net in general

So basically expect the speeds to drop to 0.1 mb per sec during peak times all the time then?

Hi as the connect package is a Bt re-badged max product. Do a Bt Bt Updated Speed Tester as that is the only test Sky will take any notice of plus you will see how bad it is if you do a test between 4pm and Midnight then a test any time after Midnight and before 4pm you will see a big difference. The lowest I have seen and had is 1kbps. Also online gaming is no good.

Gaming? Virgin media's fibre optic service offers the best. Even while throttled gaming AND downloading is possible WITHOUT lag. (on the 10 meg package)

However, if virgin is not available in your area, your options are limited, if skys LLU package is not available, you won't have many more options.

I'd check if you have virgin media fibre optic in your area.

Re: Playstation and net in general

none i moved from bt as sky was cheaper for everything in one, but since i have changed from bt it's fine during the day but just totally unusable during peak times it;s like dial up all over again. i dont mind isp capping but making it usuable there no need for it, sky connect as ive found it just a package from bt that offers pretty fast net during the day peak times my speed are down to 0.1mb using different speed test i cant even download java to try the bt speed test atm it's that bad.

Hi I know what you mean. There is a rumour that after the summer Sky are going to buy some Bandwidth it is on Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down? page 165 post #1642. Sky unbundled some exchanges in June and July I here they are still unbundling you can see some on Sky still unbundling :: Sky Broadband :: think broadband plus on SamKnows - Sky / Easynet LLU on the right of the page there are lists just click on your area shows some of the latest as well. Not all Bt re-badged products that are traffic Managed are not throttled like Sky connect. There has been a few moved to Plusnet and seem to be happy. Here`s some info on plusnet PlusNet Broadband Review, Deals and Information ? Broadband Finder - Broadband Finder hope that has been of some help
