      Re: Xbox live

      Hi there,
I am having problems with my connection with xbox live.

The NAT Test comes back with "strict" during the test, i have the standard router that sky provide and i have done the port forwarding.

Is there anything else that i should be doing?

      UPDATE

problem fixed with a reboot to the router

i'm thinking of moving to sky bb, but i'm not so sure now having read this thread as i'm a big xbox live gamer (360).

can anyone tell me what NAT settings the netgear router uses? is it strict, open etc?

      thanks in advance.

      Re: Xbox live

Ive been on sky since september and had a xbox live sb for a year since previous february, havent bothered plugging it all in and seeing if if its ok yet.

Was getting tired of silly kids on voice and lack of players online but will try it before it runs out next month.

      Re: Xbox live

      Hi all

Just thought I'd add to the conversation about the way I connect my 360. Before migrating to Sky I was using a cable internet connection with 3 networked pc's via a netgear router.

Bought a Netgear Wireless Access Point and connected that to router. That gave me the wireless connection using the xbox usb. Now using Sky modem/router but didn't bother about loosing the Access Point so still connect in the same way.

ie xbox usb to Access Point, hard wired to Sky router. Works fine, never had a problem.

      Pulling my hair out!!!

I have been trying to get Xbox Live to wqork all weekend, and I must confess that I am stumped.

My Sky BB package was activated on Friday, and everything seemed to go fine. swapped over routers and my PC could access the internet without any problems. PC is using a wireless connection.

Xbox 360 is connected by ethernet cable. Ports 88 and 3074 are open, UPnP is off and the 360 has a static IP of 192.168.0.3. Passes all tests and returns an open NAT. All good.

You can tell that there's a problem coming can't you?! When I log into Xbox Live everything is fine for a minute or two, but then both the PC and the 360 lose connectivity. The router seems to either reset or lose the internet connection, as looking at Status in the router page shows that it just connected.

Previously I used BT Broadband and never had a problem. Can anyone help?! I have run out of things to try!!
